Welcome to leonardo LOSCIALE's class

Leonardo Losciale was born in 1985, he has started to study music with drumset when he was 7 years old. After he got the Master's Degree in Music with honors at Music Conservatory “Nino Rota” in Monopoli (Italy) studing with Prof F. Lattanzi, he studied orchestral repertoire with Prof D. Searcy, timpanist of Theater Alla Scala of Milan and Prof M. Quinn, percussionist of Tonhalle of Zuriсh.


He moved in Strasbourg in Superior Conservatory of Music to deepen the study of chamber music repertoire, contemporary music and orchestral repertoire with Profs E. Sejourne, S. Fougeroux e D. Riedinger.


He continued his course of studies in Zurich Hochschule der Künste with Prof. Rainer Seegers, timpanist of Berliner Philharmoniker.


At the end, under the supervision of Prof. Igor Lesnik and Prof. Ivana Bilic he is involved at performing chamber music and soloist repertories.


At the present he is permanent percussionist at the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra (Croatia).

Furthermore he collaborates with several orchestras as the Radio Moscow Symphony Orchestra (Russia),Orchestra of “Opera Theater Petruzzelli” in Bari (Italy), Symphony Orchestra of “Pomeriggi Musicali” in Milan (IT), Lyric-Symphony Orchestra of “Real Opera Theater San Carlo” in Naples (IT), Zagreb Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (HR), Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra (France) and Landesbhunen Sachsen Lyric-Symphony Orchestra of Radebeul-Dresden (Germany).


He won the first award at the 16th International Competition “Societàˆ Umanitaria” of Milan, chaired by Prof. Marcello Abbado. 





The Percussion Master Class is one of the master classes within the World Percussion Movement "Summer Academy" 2014, which combines individual and group lectures. The programme of the master class can be partly chosen by participants, soloist repertoire and also music for ensembles or orchestral excerpts, which are part of each audition. There is a huge emphasis on the technique, sound and interpretation. Participants and professor discuss various traditions and styles of playing percussion, acoustics, as well as the importance of tempering and tuning.
