The lists of the following works serve as an example and as a level indication. If a piece of equal importance, present in yours repertoire, should not be listed in the previous lists, insert it in the application form in the Program section. The examining committee will evaluate the pieces you have proposed.

 

QUALIFICATION - Vibraphone or Marimba

 

Johann Sebastian BACH

(*) Two moviments (lento and fast) movement/“Danza” or two pieces chosen by the candidate from the following list:

  • Six Suites for Cello solo – Sei Suite per Violoncello solo 


  • Six Sonatas and Partitas for solo Violin - Sei Sonate e Partite per violino solo 


  • Two-Part Inventions – Invenzioni a due voci 


  • Prelude and Fugue from “The Well Tempered Clavier” (Book 1 and 2) 


  • Goldberg Variations

  • Four Part Chorale

  • (*) Your choice not listed previously.

 

 

1st ROUND - Snare Drum

A Free choice piece chosen (maximum duration of 10 minutes).

 

2nd Round - Vibraphone

 

A Free choice piece chosen (maximum duration of 12 minutes)..

 

 

3rd Round - FINAL (Libero/Free choice)

 

A work for solo Marimba or Vibraphone, chosen by the candidate (maximum duration: 12 minutes) and the execution of a piece or single movement (maximum duration: 8 minutes), freely chosen by the candidate, of a piece for solo percussion (example: Rebonds A or B by Iannis Xenakis ).

 

N.B. - Important Notes:

The list of the pieces to be performed must be sent no later than May 15th.

(*) It will not be possible to repeat / execute the same piece more than once.

We do not accept the "piano reductions" of the marimba concertos with orchestra performed with the piano.
